1. Getting to Know You
The first meeting sets the stage. Owner Jake Nau will listen to your ideas, dreams and concerns about your home’s potential. He’ll ask questions, such as:
- What do you love about the current space?
- What would you like to change?
- What are your budget and timeframe considerations?
2. Designs of the Times
This is where the fun really begins. Initial designs are drawn up for your new space. At this point the team may include one of the following:
- Architect
- Interior designer
- Open Air Concepts in-house design services.
3. The Proposal
After the design is finalized, you will receive a complete proposal from Open Air Concepts. The proposal will include details such as:
- Timelines
- Scope of work
- Materials list
- Contract details

4. Prep Matters
Before we begin your renovation, we gather the following information:
- A Pre-Construction Questionnaire helps us determine the best way to enter your home each day, and where you’d prefer us to park trucks and store materials.
- A Selection Worksheet establishes deadlines for deciding details such as paint colors, flooring, tile, countertops, lighting, and hardware.
- A list of other areas of your home that need to be protected while we are remodeling.
5. We’re All Ears
Regular communication is key to a smooth, efficient remodeling process. That’s why we schedule weekly project meetings with you and provide you with a bi-weekly calendar to inform you of work scheduled. Of course, you can contact Open Air Concepts at any time during your project. We encourage feedback throughout your remodeling project so we can make adjustments to make the process even easier for you.
6. Enjoy!
Your new space is transformed! Now that you are living in your renovated space, you may begin to notice details you want changed. Don’t worry—we’ll schedule a follow-up consultation three to six months after completion.
