GO GREEN

As a company, we are committed to green remodeling practices whenever financially and logistically possible. However, defining green building products and techniques can be a challenge. There are many variables to consider and each project presents a new set of criteria and priorities. Overall, building green considers resource conservation, environmental sustainability, durability and health.

When it comes to building, a lot of lumber is used for traditional framing methods. Five percent of the global population considers the U.S. home, however, we consume over 15 percent of the world's wood. When we approach a remodel, it is our responsibility to reduce the amount of wood used for framing. Engineered wood uses scrap wood and some agricultural residues combined with adhesives to produce various framing lumber and plywood that is straighter, stronger and more uniform than typical milled lumber. We use engineered lumber in our framing in order to conserve resources as well as to create a superior durable structure.

Demolition and construction waste is another environmental concern with remodeling. We are able to work with a waste removal company that recycles construction waste. We also make an effort to sort recyclables, such as cans and bottles, while working on your project.

Green building products are becoming more available and affordable. When considering your project, there are many healthy, quality, green finish selections that are now available and affordable.

The movement toward green remodeling is growing and we continue to learn of more options every day. We invite you to discuss the many options you have for your project as we balance your vision of design, function and budget to transform your home.
